International movies of Greek islands
The unique Greek landscape is an ideal back of film production with various contents. Of course, Greece is recognized abroad for the sun, the sea, Greek lifestyle, excitement, good food, and the hospitality of the local people. All of the above refers to Greek islands, and since the 1960s important international film movies have evolved and are beginning to be used as a place where the truthfulness, success, and awareness of the Mediterranean landscape have been lost. These movies have made a great contribution to the acquisition of Greek islands by foreign visitors and to the summer creation of Greek myths that never ends.
The most important and most famous of these movies is as follows.
"Boy on Dolphin" (1957)
"Dolphin Boys" is the first international filmmaking film shot in Greece with Hydra, starring Sophia Loren, Alan Ladd, Clifton Webb. This movie was an island landmark, became an attractive land after the movie as a place of thousands of tourists, especially artists and intellectual holidays and colonies during that period. The movie scene where Sophia Loren sings the song "What is Love" is one of the highlights of the movie.
"BIG BLUE" AMORGOS by LUC BESSON (1988)
The title conveys all the feelings of the movie and the feeling of Amorgo Island. A wonderful underwater shoot that creates the importance of a magic image decorating the Mediterranean and true friendship.
With these features, Luc Besson has created an astonishing and magical movie at all times. The beach of Amorgos' Agia Anna will be a blue summer that will always recover throughout the world after this movie.
"MEDITERRANEO", (1991)
Italian film awarded the Oscar Award winning movie. The whole movie was filmed with Kastelorizo and it is a scenery actively involved in the unnaturalness and atmosphere of the movie. The beauty of the island is skillfully presented and constitutes a unique setting for the movie.
"CAPTAIN CORELLI & S MANDOLIN", (2001)
In 2001, the island the American movie was awarded is Cephalonia. This case is held during the Great War, and on the island you can find the most authentic scenes the director dreams of. The main actors of the main actors (Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz), the beautiful natural landscape succeeded and the island of Ionia was known.
"ZORBA THE GREEK", (1964)
Solvus. A well-known novel by N. Kazantzakis, translated with great success in many foreign languages, became a famous American film in 1964.
