The highlights of the Northern Light Travel do not detect a wonderful sight of the light itself. There is more than a wide range of Northern Lights Travel that is offered. One of the great attractions of such a trip is the opportunity to meet local people and immerse themselves in culture far from their culture. Their world is an amazing and charming place full of beauty and awaits exploration.

The Sami of the Arctic Circle

Sami is indigenous to Lapland and their culture has been tied to the nature and environment they live for thousands of years. Sami's culture, sometimes called reindeer people, has a great emphasis on grazing reindeer. Sami retains these beasts with high appreciation, reindeer pays great respect as it is the key to the survival of these people for fur, meat and transportation. Reindeer is indispensable for the survival of Sami culture, but Sami is more aggressive in the world that shows respect for sightseeing than today. I often find it at hotels and lodges selling local souvenirs such as colorful costumes, handicrafts, shoes, hats, reindeer skin.

I meet Sami

By taking one of many nice Northern Lights trips we can offer opportunities to meet Sami people. Sami tribe is often involved in sightseeing as a guide or host at home village. Sami's capital, Kiruna is an attractive city to visit Northern Lights. Here you can experience a vibrant Sami culture. Transferring from the capital city, the diversion of the nearby small Sami village to Ravttas is often provided by the tour company. This village is an attractive introduction to Sami 's life in the form of truth. People provide a warm welcome and you can glimpse the annoying existence you have to end to survive. You can also use reindeer yourself or explore in the forest by adventure.

For lunch at Ravttas you can include smoked reindeer called suovas and local bread called gahkku. You can enjoy meals around the fireplace in Sami 's chapel and remember Sami' s legend and legendary story.

Sami has a rough history, once people were oppressed. But despite their constant fight for survival, people's strength stands in the place of good, today they have their own Independence Day, flags and parliament. It is an attractive encounter and is easily unforgettable.
