Every year thousands of families spend their holidays in the naturist village between the ancient Mediterranean town Leucate and the seaside resort and the port leucate of the yacht from April to October.
The village has little traffic, but you can walk naked at all like everyone else. There is a small shopping center with a very nice bakery where you can buy fresh croissants, breads and more. Shopping at supermarkets, buying from butchers, wine shops, newspaper shops, small restaurants, drinks and meals are all left in nude.
These villas including Aphrodite and Oasis were founded on the tourism committee established by President Charles de Gaulle in the 1960s. The government tempted the manufacturers to take thousands of vacations and was looking for ways to stay in France, go to Spain and look for beach vacation destinations.
Leucate's Old Town is between the Mediterranean Sea and the large salt water lagoon. In the south of the town there is a few kilometers of narrow land between the sea and the lagoon. Six kilometers south is the old settlement, and the committee suggested establishing a new development called a port leucate with holiday accommodations, yacht harbor, shopping center. De Gaulle who visited the work started in the mid-1960s and the work in progress in 1967. This committee was asked to tackle the future of a beautiful beach north of Port Leucate's new resort.

A certain strong wind blows through the area at some point in a year, so this area is developing as one of the most popular areas for wind and kite surfing.
One of the advantages of this area that is ideal for family holidays is the range of other activities that are close distance from the Naturist village. Within 10 minutes by car you will find a large underwater center with numerous swimming pools and huge slides. In the nearby pine forest, there are adventure centers where people of all ages can climb and slide down the trees. There is also a casino and a new cinema nearby. The Pyrenees mountains are seen from the village, and the snow from autumn to spring can be seen at the highest peak. There is a course just around the Pyrenees mountains and walking around the magnificent countryside.
There is a large Sigean Africa reserve, attractive both adults and children. Because there are many animals in the natural environment including the lion, there is only one visit by car. Then there is another part that you can visit on foot including bird life, monkey, antelope, elephant, and many other kinds of creatures.
This area is one of the hottest places in France. Of course, one of the most popular activities is to have a small siesta to relax on the beach next to a holiday apartment and sometimes dream of being naked.
