There are numerous beautiful volcanic beaches on Santorini, inviting thousands of visitors each summer. On the most popular beaches, various attractions and amenities are available.
- Paradisos Beach It is located at the northern end of the island beneath Oia. It is a large organized beach with background water, black sand, pebble and sculpted pumice rock. Because the water is shallow, it is recommended for those with children. This is unusual for Santorini. The restaurant, several restaurants and nearby Taverna offer lunch. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for hire.
- Vourvoulos Beach It is located on the east coast of the island south of Xiropigado Beach. Small harbor, umbrella, small wooden playground, organized beach with room changes and restaurants. On the road there are shaded beach trees lined up. The beach is a mixture of sand and pebble, blue water is clear. It is popular, but it is the most crowded and organized beach on the island.
- Monolithos Beach It is located on the east coast of the island south of Karterados Beach. Monolithos is a very long, quiet, family-friendly, well-organized beach with black sand, shallow ocean, sandy seabed. It is very good for swimming and a lifeguard is obligatory. It is part of the longest continuous beach of the island, followed by Curry Beach and Perissa Beach. Organized activities include beach volleyball, basketball, soccer and playground. There are fish restaurants and traditional tavernas, room changes, shower and public toilets. The trees behind the beach provide shade.
- Kamari Beach It is located in the north of Perissa, southeast of Santorini. It was one of the most popular beaches on the island and was given a blue flag. The long beach connects to Perissa and the south, there is an impressive mountain of Mesa Vouno and ancient Thira ruins in between. There are deep, transparent water and black sand, there is a rescue team. On the beach there are sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports, diving and more. Paved pedestrian promenade is parallel to the beach and offers walking and shopping opportunities. Kamari offers numerous cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and lively nightlife. The view of the area is beautiful, especially the night when Mesa Bona is lit is beautiful.
- Perissa Beach It is located in the southeast of Santorini, under the village of Emporio. Perissa is a very popular beach resort that won the Blue Flag. It has an impressively long black sand beach, with a view of the Mesa-Vono mountain and the ancient Thira ruins. Water has sandy seabed and sometimes submerged rock. The beach has sunbeds, umbrellas, restaurants, taverns, cafes, bars, souvenir shops and lifeguards. The view of the area is beautiful, especially the night when Mesa Bona is lit is beautiful. Two diving schools, water parks and natural rock climbing walls offer nearby activities.
- Peri Voros Beach It is located in the southeast of Santorini, under the village of Emporio. The deep blue sea and sandy sea floor is a long beach with black sand beach connected to Perissa Beach and Agios Georgios Beach. The beach area is naturally protected from the summer north wind, and it may adversely affect other beaches of the island. Life guards, sunbeds, umbrellas, restaurants, taverns, cafes, bars, supermarkets, showers, public toilets and playgrounds are in place. You can experience the nightlife of Santorini every day on numerous beach bars including club music, DJ guest appearances, volleyball tournaments and special events. There are many water sports facilities such as windsurfing, scuba diving, jet skiing in the neighborhood.
- Agios Georgios It is located at the southern end of Santorini, about 0.5 km from Perivolos beach. It's a big, sandy beach. It is more quiet than nearby Perissa and Peri Voros Beach, and the water is shallower. Several small tavernas are offering lunch. Sun beds and umbrellas can be rented. There are plenty of water sports opportunities such as jet skiing, scuba diving, windsurfing, paddle boating, banana boating.
- Vlychada It is located at the southern tip of Santorini. It is a quiet, organized beach with stunning backgrounds of black sand and eroded beach cliffs of the wind resembling the surface of the moon. Despite its popularity, the beach has enough space so you can see it quietly even though it is crowded. Nudists tend to like the far end of the beach. The marina for the nearby yacht, and the home of the Santorini yacht & yacht center. You can rent an umbrella and a sunbed, but it is only near the beginning of the beach. Near the harbor there is a cafeteria and several tavernas, but as the beach is long it is advisable to bring food.
- Eros Beach It is located on the southern coast of Santorini island near Vlychada. Eros Beach is a small, well-organized beach area with facilities provided by umbrellas, sun beds, volleyball and Teros Beach bar. I share the same beautiful scenery as the nearby Vlychada Beach. Cliffs of the sandy beach will stop. You can eat meals, coffee, snacks from the bar. There are night events and DJ music.
- Red beach It is located on the south coast of Santorini, south of the village of Akrotiri. Red beach is one of the most beautiful and famous beaches on the island. It is nicknamed the iron-rich rock of the cliff face that rises above the sandy beach above you. It has a small beach area and due to its popularity it can be quite crowded in the summer season. It is an unorganized beach and does not offer cantina or snacks on the beach. There is a small cantina near the parking lot where you should buy what you need. The first few meters of the water near the coast is gravel. Many distant yachts are seen from the beach and the sunset view is wonderful. Visibility for snorkeling is good, but you need to bring your own equipment.
- White Beach It is located on the south coast of Santorini, south of the village of Akrotiri. White beach is very similar to Red Beach, but there are black pebbles on the coast, but the surrounding cliffs are white. It is slightly organized just with some sun beds and umbrellas. The surrounding rocks provide a natural hue. It is harder to reach than the nearby Red Beach and is therefore quieter. Since there is no place to purchase them on the beach, please bring the supplies you may need. The beach is accessible from boat and Red Beach. The boat leaves from Red Beach and Akrotiri. Since there is no pier, we have to walk high water in the waist to go to the beach by boat, but experience is not disappointing.
- Ammoudi Bay Beach It is located under the Oia at the northwest end of the island. You can walk from Oia's castle on foot or walk 214 steps in mule. It is an attractive and popular undeveloped beach, with high red cliffs and infinite blue ocean views. It does not have a sandy beach, but there is a swimming area. It is recommended for a powerful swimmer. There is a small port dotted with the famous fish Taverna. Although it is possible to swim in the harbor, it is the best place to go through the taverna on the waterfront. From there you can find the best place to jump off the rocky field. From the harbor of Ammoudi you can also carry a small ship to the island opposite Thirassia.
