Most women like shopping, trying to try and try almost all of the available things, taking a sweet time to shop before deciding whether to purchase. Because being a person of myself, I concentrated on expedition shopping. Go shopping, look for target items, and shop. However, there is an unexpected thrill about 20 kilometers from Bau Town to Serikin Market in Serikin Town, about 60 kilometers from Kuching City in Sarawak State.

On the first trip I went to the Serikin Market, I was surprised to find a shiny long black hair bunch. It was sold in one of the stores sold in the market. I guess the actual hair will be used for the purpose of the wig. There was also a goat skin for sale. This was sometimes used as a decorative rug in the living room. However, I have not dreamed of purchasing human hair or animal skin for any purpose.

Slowly drive to the town of Serikin, a small rustic Dayak cum Bidayuh took an hour and a half from Kuching City. Serikin was located near the border between Malaysia and Indonesia called the borderline between Sarawak and Kalimantan. Serikin Market was launched in 1992 as a channel for Indonesian traders to offer products to locals, visitors, bargain hunters. The market consulted that 3 kilometers of stalls and huts were built on both sides of a narrow street. The road was frequently traversed by people and cars as if there were no traffic lights or stop signs. In fact there was nothing. The parking fee was RM 2.00 per turn, which was the most reasonable. Nevertheless, finding parking lots at the Saekin Market is like trying to find a needle in hay, at the highest crowd weekend.

The first impression of Serikin Market was colorful multicolored ... there was confusion in the air. Stalls and huts lined up on the roadside were set up unnaturally. Also, traders, buyers, bystanders and pedestrians hit each other violently, price negotiations were going back and forth. A large number of items exhibited or sold contributed to the discordance of noise and confusion. That was a fun and exciting journey to Serikin Market.

I was able to find virtually anything under the sun in the Serikin Market. Even at reasonable prices ... Cheap, cheap, cheap, small yellow chicks will ring. Price negotiations were common, and even though they were anticipated, it was a fun feat of bargain hunters and buyers. Even if you decide not to buy anything, traders and sellers are calm, so there was no unnecessary worry. After all, this was part of doing business for them. There was a stall selling chocolates such as fresh or packed foods and candies, biscuits, local cakes, spices, bottled honey syrup, fresh fruits and vegetables. I was worried about the range of handicrafts we sell. There were handicraft items made from multi-colored beads, shells and wood carvings. Costume jewelry from the dazzling ring to earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

Serikin Market is an evacuation shelter of antique collectors who chose old watches, old cameras, old irons, old watches. There were other old things, but I did not understand some of them. Some stalls attracted potted decorative plants and musically inclined guitars. Also, sunglasses, umbrellas, toys, household items in pots and pots from curtains, handmade rattan furniture could also be used. Other stalls were selling souvenirs such as sculptable key holders. It is a practical item like sports cap, T-shirt, tissue box.

For men and women who liked to shop clothes, there were plain or embroidered men's and women's different outfits. There were short pants, trousers, skirts, shirts, dresses, jackets, salons (fabrics with large tube style with batik patterns). Various accessories were also prepared to supplement your wardrobe, such as scarves, hats, handbags, perfumes. For the price paid to the item, you will have to be satisfied with the "brand" because what you pay is what you have received. The list of items continued many times, including goat's skin and human hair! It certainly was an experience of opening my eyes at the Serikin Market. One sage advice I will attend to future visitors to the town of Serikin Town Aand will remember to bring your own shopping cart.
