"Extra" in extracurricular activities for university applicants

Recently, at college, there are too many applications students are adding to improve their grades, but at the expense of understanding what becomes a robot in a competitive atmosphere. Academic standards are still the driving force of university admission, but you have problems with what to do when too many applicants have a GPA between 3.80 and 4.0. Many of us have heard stories of 4.0 enrollees. Indeed, universities want students with high academic ability not only to learn on campus, but also to inform students about ideas and energy for innovation development, creativity contribution, and finally cognition. With this in mind, the university needs a student who can be loved in life no matter where you are, such as students, sports, volunteer activities, talent, traveling, etc. that can exceed expectations. The most important thing is that students need to clarify this "difference" in the application on page 4-8.

Well, how to do this. It is important for students to do two things at all times while maintaining a good academic record. 1) Time to breathe and time to relax, 2) Commit to whatever you like (or at least your choice). Students working on one activity for 2-4 years show a stronger level of commitment and motivation compared to 20 students for a short period of time. Nonetheless, students engaged in more than 2 activities for 2 to 4 years or more also show potential potential.

When I was an admission counselor at the University of California campus, I asked the university application for a list of activities that are not related or interrelated. Applicants will focus on page aspects such as one month volunteer at a hospital, two times at a homeless shelter, two months at a pet recruitment center, six months at a piano lesson. Despite the page being "packed", my first assumption was full of suspicious motives and lack of commitment. I asked if students were participating in these things for the sole purpose of filling out this page and hoped that the student essay had an explanation. I have not gotten any explanation many times and my premise can be continued.
