The town of Southend-on-Sea in Essex is famous locally as a resort municipality on the beachfront. It is also known as a unified authority area. The total population is about 162,000 (it is part of the autonomous district in some other towns), it is only about 40 miles to the east of the central district of London, but it functions as a component of Thames Gateway. It lies along the Thames River estuary.
Southend on Sea became the first beach resort in Georgia. Originally it was part of the village at the southern end of Prittlewell and got its name from its geographical location. Since then, due to the approach to London and easy availability of train transport, we have relied on its existence in the tourism industry so far.
In this town we can also boast that the longest pier in the world is the only one pier for about 1.5 miles (1.34 mile) pleasure type activity. In the UK for many years the seaside resort area has lost popularity and the downtown and central area of Southend was redeveloped to support the functions of commercial and other business types.
There is a railroad at the pier and it runs in the middle. In addition, many interesting tourist type businesses and attractions are gathered around the pier itself. This includes a large amusement park focusing on the Peter Pan theme, an aquarium of marine life. There is an annual air show to be held in May every year and a big celebratory carnival.
Essex, a county with a southeast town, is both a ritual and a non-capital in its classification. It boasts a population of about 1.7 million people, ranked sixth in the national population. Essex has a historical history, with over 14,000 buildings and buildings dating back to the past English where tradition and classical atmosphere are drifting.
