As the world changed from agriculture dependent economy to industrial influence, the daily interaction between humans also changed. Community life once admired the virtue of the ethical and intimate interaction of work slowly entered the corrupt society by self-fulfillment and the destructive nature of individualism. Some people have started to withdraw from the flowering of this new type of society, in order to maintain a lifestyle harmonized with the old principles. Such people generally emphasized the importance of making a small self-sufficiency society and maintaining a close relationship with their neighbors as well as their families. In such a society, the most common example is probably Amish Society. Complete withdrawal from all technical aspects of society makes it possible to concentrate more on religion and social interaction than can be forgiven by modern society.

To define these two types of society, sociologist Ferdinand Tönies (Ferdinand Tönnies, 1887/1988) classified them as two different styles of society. He applies the term Gemeinschaft to refer to a community that focused on intimate social interaction. He states that everyone in the community knows everyone and members of society share a common sense of fate. This type of society maintains it, as it will deviate, the rest of the community will conspire to compromise the departed reputation of the community. Their lives are controlled primarily by the opinions of others, but they can obtain comfort from knowing that they are part of an intimate group.

At the other extreme of the spectrum, there is Gesellschaft, which refers to a chaotic society of today's industrial society. Tony pointed out that the industrialization of the 20th century plagues simple weirs of village life. Personal ties, lifelong friendships and the importance of family relationships were effectively evaluated low in terms of short-term relationships, personal achievements and self-interests. This type of society's gossip is not very effective because the short-term relationship may end as new things start, as the situation gets worse. Formal institutions such as police and court replaced the influence of fellow pressure and gossip.

Today's Amish community is a beautiful example of what Tonnies called Gemeinschaft Communities. He predicted exactly that it exists as a result of resistance to industrialization. In these communities, weekly meetings on the distribution and common welfare of goods will replace today's courts and other agencies. All decisions are made based on the needs of the individual who shares a close relationship with you. Therefore, each decision is made totally to make the community better at all levels. In a typical society, laws must be enacted to appeal to the common interests of many sects who prefer wealthy people and those who live in modernized areas. These laws often do not exist in society because they are not related to communities such as Indian reserves and Amish districts. In this way Amish 's life has a perfect meaning.

Another reason why Amish is separated from the world is due to the literal interpretation of the Yamami sermon of Christ. They insist that in order to remain faithful to their faith they must minimize the disorder in modern society. In a family-centric small community, you can place most of his shares on Biblical research and worship than employment markets, social acceptance, and other financial concerns.

The importance of keeping healthy old value is held higher in front of someone's eyes. The connection of the hearing impaired with your neighbors and family enables rounded development and a more complete sense of security. As Tönnies stated, humans do whatever is necessary to maintain a strong social bond.
