Bloordale / Wallace Emerson Neighborhood:

As the transition area progresses, this west end region is growing very rapidly. Bloordale Village is a retail commercial strip along Bloor between Dufferin and Lansdowne. This district is known as Wallace and Emerson based on the two main residential streets that intersect in the middle of the area. Wallace and Emerson are in the west of Dufferin, East of Lansdowne, North of Bloor, South of Dupont.

This is a moving neighborhood. In 2006 the census was one of the poorest people in Toronto, about an average of approximately $ 25,000 inhabitants and about 10,000 inhabitants per year. Since then, compared with the West High Park and the eastern Dover Court Park, affordable prices have increased the interest of artists and young first buyers. Bloordale village is now home to Mercer Union Gallery, Contemporary Art Center, Toronto Free Gallery, Funktion Gallery.

Real estate along Bloor between Lansdowne and Dufferin is mainly retail / commercial with residential apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The northern part of Bloor consists mainly of detached houses. These dwellings were generally shredded to make multiple home dwellings when spending a declining period in the neighborhood. Currently, most young couples are coming back to the neighborhood, but many single homes are probably returning to a single family with prison / rental suite in the basement. To the north of DuPont there are many post-industrial buildings in Davenport, which are slowly being remodeled as loft apartment style residences and townhouses of rowers.

Every year in July, a volunteer community called Big On Bloor hosted a festival of Bloordale BIA street. Their purpose is to improve the economic, cultural and social life of Blue Dale Village by organizing events and festivals celebrating neighborhoods. As a musician, I am applying for playing the festival in 2011.

Also nearby is the Wallace Emerson Community Center in Dufferin, just south of Dupont, with indoor pool, outdoor skating rink, soccer pitch, outdoor skateboard / BMX park. Furthermore, at the community center, after the after school club for young people, the bridge for the elderly and the event of the bustling card game, we are carrying out various programs for young people and the elderly in the community.

Technically, the Dufferin Grove park is not located in the Wallace and Emerson districts, but it is merely a rugged stone. Slightly south of Dufferin, opposite the Dufferin Mall, this park is hosting weekly Organic Farmer & # 39; s Market throughout the year. This park features a baking oven used by the community for baking in local agricultural products, outdoor skating rinks, soccer pitch, baseball, basketball area, playground, picnic table, campfire capability etc.

It is very easy to access the area by using public transportation.Dufferin / Bloor, Lansdowne, Bloor metro station is on the Bloor East-West subway line. The bus service runs north and south from both Dufferin and Lansdowne stations and east to west along Dupont.

In restaurants and shops, Bloordale Village itself operated along Bloor itself has a lot of small niche restaurants ranging from ethnic to vegan. Bar & coffee house such as 3 speeds and Holy oak are some names to check out. There are also many other small stores. From vintage to variety.

Of course, if you need a bit more heavy shopping, just Dufferin Mall just south of the Wallace Emerson district, Duppont and Dufferin's Galleria Mall, just north of the Wallace Emerson Community Center.

This is a place of living in Toronto.
