Microsoft Great Plains were originally designed by the Great Plains Software on the GPS Dexterity platform, later purchased by Microsoft, changed to Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions later renamed to Microsoft (after the acquisition of Navision Software), very popular It was an intermediate market ERP application which was renamed to Microsoft Dynamics again in September 2005. Microsoft Great Plains is part of the Microsoft Dynamics family with Navision, Axapta, Solomon, and Microsoft CRM, each of which is called Microsoft Dynamics GP, NAV, SL, AX, and CRM, respectively. Currently, Microsoft is rapidly promoting the Microsoft Dynamics Project and integrates the Microsoft Dynamics MRP family with Microsoft Office, MS Sharepoint, Microsoft Business Portal (each Dynamics has its own BP blend) and further integrates the Dynamics Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics GP for Microsoft Visual Studio developers using tools such as SDK and eConnect will be offered. Below I will introduce the highlights of Microsoft Dynamics GP

o Version 10.0. While you are reading these lines, it should be released. The previous version is Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0. In 9.0, C # or VB.Net software developers can program GP customization with tools such as Microsoft eXconnect and MS Dynamics GP SDK, but Microsoft Dexterity will not be emphasized

o Business portal. Here I would like to concentrate on the Order management module instead of Microsoft's Great Plains former eOrder. Order management is a module, integrated into the Microsoft Dynamics GP business portal, as well as Microsoft .Net applications. It also calls Microsoft's Terminal Services client, opens a Microsoft Dynamics GP dex fat client, enters a transaction, and requires addition of a GP in the corresponding BP part

o Business in Chicago. I definitely have a variety of places, but I'd like to concentrate on a typical medium-sized business. Distribution and logistics - GP modules such as inventory management and order processing are subject to lightweight (or heavy) customization to automate D & L business logic. Placement Agency - These companies usually handle the US Payroll module. If additional functionality is required, BP employees' self-service must provide a customized platform. Light Production and Assembly - Great Plains has a decent discrete manufacturing and Bill of Material module so please take a look at its function and see if it fits your company.
